ANGLETON POLICE DEPARTMENT
Jr. Citizen’s Police Academy
The Angleton Police Department will be hosting our annual Junior Citizen’s Police Academy for children 14-18 years of age. The Academy will be held at the Angleton Police Department Training Room starting June 7th through June 11, 2010. Classes will be held daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
A range of topics will be covered including Narcotics/Alcohol, DWI, Building Searches using SWAT tactics, Defensive Tactics, “Shoot – Don’t Shoot” scenarios, Patrol Functions, Criminal Investigation, and working a mock crime scene. Class time will be divided between instruction and actual “hands on” participation.
This free academy is a great experience for young adults with an interest in law enforcement and gives a behind-the-scenes look at a working police department. Contact Training Sgt. Quenton Rush or Asst. Chief Katherine Davis for further information and applications at the Angleton Police Department (979-849-2383).
